MEMBERSHIP SERVICES STAFF

Position Description 
Position Title: Member Services Associate
Community:  Member Services
Supervisor:  Human Resources Manager
FLSA Type:  Non-Exempt

1.      GENERAL FUNCTION
Responsible for operating the YMCA Welcome Center, registering participants and guests and data entry into the YMCA membership software.  Acts as a liaison and advocate for YMCA Membership Development.

2.      ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
A.     Current CPR (including infant, child and adult).*
B.     Current first aid.*
C.     YMCA Child Abuse Prevention Training.*
D.     Bloodborne Pathogen Training*
E.      High school education or GED.
F.      Excellent interpersonal skills.
G.     Experience working with computer database programs.
*Within 30 days of employment or at first available training.

3.      JOB REQUIREMENTS
A.     Ability to uphold the mission of the YMCA.
B.     Ability to do multiple tasks at the same time.
C.     Ability to establish and build positive relationships with YMCA members, guests and participants.
D.     Ability to take responsibility for learning what the YMCA is offering in terms of programs and activities.

4.      PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
A.     Maintains a professional attitude and appearance.
B.     Developed positive relationships with members and participants.
C.     Encourages member involvement and identifies potential volunteers.
D.     Conveys basic information on YMCA programs and schedules to members and, as appropriate, refers members to other YMCA programs and/or staff.
E.      Controls member and participant access into the facility utilizing YMCA guidelines and procedures.
F.      Attends all required meetings and in service trainings.
G.     Accurately registers participants into programs.
H.     Data entry of new members into the membership management software.
I.        Gains an understanding of the membership management software.
J.       Takes responsibility for learning what the YMCA is currently offering for members and the community.
K.    Build relationships with members and guests addressing questions and concerns as they arise referring to other YMCA staff if needed.
L.      Audits member accounts regularly verifying membership status.
M.   Responds to emergency situations in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures completing incident and accident reports as required.
