GENERAL FUNCTION
Performs routine janitorial duties to ensure cleanliness of facility. Acts as a liaison and advocate for YMCA membership.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Six months or more of related experience.

Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties.

YMCA Child Abuse Prevention training and Bloodborne Pathogen training.*

Current first aid and CPR certifications.*
*Within 30 days of employment or at first available training.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Ability to uphold the mission of the YMCA.

Ability to use equipment and chemicals in a prescribed manner, including ability to interpret labels, MSDS information sheets and instructions.

Ability to stay alert to potential safety and security problems.

Ability to carry out instructions independently.

Ability to get along with people of diverse backgrounds.

Ability to communicate information on YMCA programs and opportunities for member involvement to members and participants.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
-
Cleans and sanitizes sinks, toilets, showers, restrooms and other assigned areas of the building.

Cleans and maintains floors, walls, windows and other surfaces.

Empties waste containers.
-
Replaces soap, paper towels and other supplies.

Performs various duties such as dusting and maintaining entrances and offices.

Performs sidewalk/exterior clean up.

Sets up furniture for special events as directed.

Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.

Maintains effective relationships with the members, participants and other staff.

Conveys basic information on YMCA programs and schedules to members and, as appropriate, refers members to other YMCA programs and/or staff as needed.
